Mynook Privacy Policy

Mynook ("the app") is a personal diary app for recording your own experiences — trips, restaurants, books, films — together with photos. The app works entirely on this device, without an account, and never sends your records or photos to a server or the cloud.

1. Information stored

• Your record data (title, notes, rating, tags, date, per-category fields), photos, and the location and capture time read from those photos are all stored only in the app's storage on this device.
• Only if you sign in with Google, your name, email and profile photo are stored on this device for account identification. Signing in is optional and does not cause any record to be uploaded.
• The app uses no advertising identifiers, usage tracking, or analytics.

2. Permissions

• Camera: to take photos for a record and to scan a book's barcode (ISBN).
• Photos / media: to attach gallery photos to records, and to read the GPS and capture-date info embedded in a photo so it can be filled in automatically. The "free up device storage" feature queries your photo list to find the gallery original that matches a copy kept in the app.
• Location: to note where you visited on trip/restaurant records, and to center the map on your current location when the map is empty.

3. Information sent to third parties

Only when you use the relevant feature, and only at that moment, a minimal amount of information is sent to external services. Your record content and photos are never sent.

• Place/map search and reverse geocoding: your search term and location are sent to Google.
• Film/TV search: your search term is sent to TMDB.
• Book search: your search term or ISBN is sent to the National Library of Korea; when loading a cover image, the ISBN is sent to Kyobo Book Centre's image server.
• Film ratings: the title is sent to OMDb.
• Comic search: your search term is sent to the Naver search API.
• Google Sign-In (optional): communicates with Google's auth servers.

The on-device AI feature (tag / name suggestions) runs entirely on the device and sends no data anywhere.

4. Sharing

The app has no sharing feature. The developer cannot access your records or photos, and no information is sold or transferred to third parties.

5. Retention and deletion

All data lives on your device, so uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also erase everything with "Reset all data" in the app's settings. If you created a backup file, you are responsible for managing and deleting that file.

6. Children

This app is not directed to children.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date changed.
